Definitely bake them in the oven and even add a little salt or seasonings to give them a little more taste. They are the best fresh and hot right from McDonald's but that doesn't happen very often.

I often nuke them in the microwave, but they get tough after a short time. The best way I've found to heat up leftover fries is in a skillet (non-stick or lightly oiled not non-stick) and on a medium heat, just heat them and move them around often with a utensil. You can add oil to your taste in either type of skillet, but I have done this often and over many years:-)

The fries get soggy if you microwave it. Well, they get soggy after they're cold anyways. Eat them fast, when it gets cold after you've reheated them, they get a little hard.

Oven..in the microwave they will get soggy and lose flavor. Make sure if you like them salty to put some salt on before you cook them or the flavor will evaporate.

French fries (or any food for that matter) that have preservatives added, i found, not good in the microwave. The only french fries that taste good in the microwave are homemade.

Prefer them in oven, but if you don't microwave too long, they are ok.
