It depends on your body type. I am on the thick side and I'm 7 and a half mths and I only gained about 15 lbs. My friend however is on the skinny side and she gained like 50 lbs but she dropped it like right away lucky her.

Nope, you're fine. They try to discourage anyone who is already heavy from gaining too much as it can bring on pre-eclampsia. But usually if you gain less than 50 they don't really worry unless you show complications. The hardest part is losing it afterwards. So if you don't loose weight easily I would stay within the 35lb guideline by the 30 week mark. It's common to gain water at the end so if you have a sudden gain of 2 to 8 lbs it could be water retention.

Pregnancy is not the time to diet. Whether it's good or not doesn't matter because you're feeding your baby.

Eat good, nutritious food, the kind you would feed your baby 10 months from now. Drink skim milk. Limit sodas & chips. And stay active. Walk, walk, walk.

Are your hands and feet swollen? Your ankles? If so, you may have gained some water weight, which you can eliminate by drinking a cup of tea (caffiene).

Dr.s now like to keep the weight gain to 35-40 lbs. But, as I said before, it's more important to feed your child healthy food than it is to worry about weight.

No not at all, I think the average is between 30- 40 pounds by the time you reach 40 weeks. You have nothing to worry about. I promise. It depends also on your weight before the baby too. Talk to your Dr. but I am sure you are fine. Congrats

its not bad-average gain is 25-40 pounds (I had a talk with my dr yesterday) plus in the last trimester is when the baby starts taking on the most weight (i've already gained 42 pounds-dr says its fine)

I guess it depends if you are skinny or big build. I am on the overweight side and I have gained 13 pounds and I'm just over 21 weeks. Every woman is different.

For a woman that is average weight before pregnancy, the recommended weight gain is approximately 1 pound per week.

Not at all! You may have a little more to work off after the baby is born but please don't start starving yourself... You are going to be fine. In all, I gained 45 pounds and went back after a few months.

But you should breast feed. It helps your uterus contract back to its original size, or what it wants to do.

Good Luck and stay comfortable!

hey! everyones body is different..just cz u gained 25 lbs that doesnt meen u gained alot..some people gain most of their weight in the begining and not as much towards the end., so this meens that its possible that you might not gain alot at the end of your pregnancy..as your body is going through all these hormonal changes..its normal for some ones body to "freek out" and gain all this weight,,i gained alot of weight as well through out my pregnancy..and that doesnt meen that the person will have a "big baby"..if the doctor is tryin to scare you about ur weight..dont take it personal..no one is going to gain the "exact" amount of weight as they say..so i wouldnt worry about it.
