I have a hard time seeing how people can be so fervently against Israel on that issue. The Palestinians are given statehood on a platter, but they would use a suicide vest to blow up the person holding it. Don't they understand that they will never destroy Israel?

For those who say that the ones who want to blow up Israel and commit terrorism are the minority, why did the vast majority of Palestinians vote for Hamas?

For the record, I have a great understanding of the current issues and history leading up them now.

I understand how Israel came to be and the problems that the Palestinians have with it. I do not understand how someone can sympathize with them given their actions.

Also, some of you seem to be confused here.

Most of the Jews involved in the founding of Israel were there before WWII. The idea actually came about from the League of Nations, right after WWI.

Supporting the Palestinians is simply an anti American stance, therefore one that many idiots are happy to jump on. Arafat and his cronies told people that this land belonged to them and they believed it. What else is there to say that is not rhetoric.

Once upon a time there was a country called Palestine, with out any discussion with the people who lived in this country of Palestine, it was decided by the major country's, right after WW2 to establish a home land for the Jews, (home land not a country). Calling them selves Israeli's they flooded into this country, Palestine, from Europe, through fighting & violence, kicking out the Palestinians who had lived in this country of Palistine for hundreds of years and establishing the country of Israel.
Some of us feel the Palestinians got a raw deal but I guess better than the Canaanites got when this same country was known as the land of Canaan.
Think you should study a little history.

Have you ever been there? Israelis have countless checkpoints and treat Palestinians any way they want to which means 18, 19 year old kids can harass and humiliate at will. If they wish to use your house for military purposes they can just go in and take it over. Palestinians have no avenue for redress of grievance. Israelis have a high standard of living. Palestinians live on less than $2.00/day. If you had ever visited the Holy Land, your heart would break for the Palestinians...if you have a heart.

Well they are innocent bystanders for Hitler's crimes. Palestinan children are paying the price for Hitlers sins.

Let's say you threw me (Israeli's) out of your (Germans) house. But I was not suppose to be in your house. So I (Israeli's) go a few houses down the road to a house which was my Great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandfathers house (Palestinians) many many years ago but no longer is. And decide that those owners should be the ones kicked out because you are REALLY responsible that I got kicked out my host's house in the first place.

That is the logic of the Israeli's and it is a twisted and sadistic logic. Thats why people sympathize with the Pal's. Even tough there people are hated by most Muslims any ways.

Honestly there was a pretty big injustice when most of that land was simply stolen from the people owned it so that Isreal could come back into excistence. I belive that Isreal deserves to be there, cause they have time after time shown that they will fight to the bitter end to defend what was given to them. But some kind of deal should be worked out to try and restore some short of the peace that was there before the creation of Isreal. If it's one or the other, than let them decide it by their millitaries, cause that is the only reasonable way for two countries decided which one of them has the right to excist if only one can have that right.

A better question would be why do people here support acts of terror against Israel, which is what Hamas and other groups are all about.

If the Palestinians were peaceful I guarantee they would get a lot more support.

If the Palestinians focused on making a product(s) for sale on the world market as much as they are on blowing up Israel they would be infinately better off and have their statehood.
Besides people forget that Israelies bought the land at inflated prices when it was swampland.

maybe you should read a few books about the region and history and about the forced relocation's of Palestinians. and then ask. I suppose you hate the American Indians because they did not support manifest destiny.

AMERICAN FOREIGN POLICY IS CREATING ALL OF THE EVILS IN THIS WORLD TODAY!!!!

We're the ones who piss people off, and we're the ones who shouldn't be there, and we're the ones unjustly in there for personal gains.

That's why I have sympathy towards Palestine and the rest of the world, because they have a right to be irritated with us at this point.
