Why on earth can't someone tell Billy and Honey that they do not have to leave without a court order.....?

It's so annoying when scriptwriters ignore the law - they did the same with Shirley and her dodgy landlord.

It seems that the law in this respect can be complecated depending on the terms of the lease you agreed. I just found a site quoting this. "One the fixed term has expired your landlord can evict you without a court order or formal notice to quit". So maybe they are right somewhere down the line.

As Blue Dolphin pointed out you can be evicted without an order to quit but the local authorities have responsibility for all people living in their area so all Billy would have to do is go to the council, they would then be put into temporary accommodation e.g. bed and breakfast.
The council has to find you a more permanent accommodation within 6 weeks when you have children.
I had my rented house sold from under me and my family so have been in the same position.
Also why hasn't he gone and signed on, he would probably also be able to get some kind of grant or loan.

And also the sprites ignore the fact Honey has some money to live on from child benefit and in real life she could get an housing house long time ago. And also the police wouldn't give back to Lucy a bag with a gun is ridiculous.

Its soap land, as quick as they get evicted, they will get into a new property with no references, deposit, or waiting about. all their gear will be moved in without either of them moving any boxes and the whole palce will be decorated without a single paint brush being lifted !
