it will come on and and go to windows but as soon as windows xp screen comes up it flickers and goese off and comes back on by its self and keeps repeating untill i finaly turn it off my self it came with a 20 gb hard drive but it was not working so i bought a 120 gb hard drive for would that make a difference i dont know if it worked before that it was given to me

Hi. Sounds like maybe a power issue. Check the adapter. Try running from the adapter with the battery pulled out. Sometimes they pull down the power when bad.

Its possible the 120 gb drive you bought had an operating system on it and therefore incorrect video drivers. see if you can boot to safe mode by pressing F8 and then update the video drivers
