Raindrops on roses, whiskers on kitten etc....
It wasn't even Winter in the movie!

You have a point there. The movie was set in the summertime.

However, "My Favorite Things" has a lot of wintry and festive imagery, including bright copper kettles, warm woolen mittens, brown paper packages tied up in strings, sleighbells, girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes, snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes, silver white winters that melt into springs...

Makes sense, doesn't it?

I agree Sweetday. It makes for a better Christmas song than somebody's grandma getting run over by a reindeer. So cheery. We need more cheery, throughout the year.

Cause it talks about mittens and snowflakes on noses and eyelashes...sounds like a good winterysong.

Maybe because we often get our favorite things at Christmas time.
