its actually Acetyl-coenzymeA

but since the acetyl-coA forms from Pyruvic acid becauz of da action of Pyruvic Dihydrogenase & NAD, in some books Pyruvic acid is referred as the starting material.

Well First off Glucose are split down and creating 2 ATP if i remember. It is split into two Pyrate which consists of c 3

Since it is a cycle, I don't know what point you would call the "start".
