What a crime. Has anyone met a vet back from Iraq who has been caught in the red tape as he or she attempts to recover?

I am a vet back from Iraq and I have found the VA to be helpful with minimal 'red tape.'

Even my disability paperwork has proceeded with what I consider to be surprisingly less paperwork than I expected from a government agency. All they asked me for was to tell them where the relevant documents were and they went and got them themselves.

........yet Congress is now attempting to cut funds for Vets in their latest omnibus spending debacle. By cutting the funds earmarked for the VA they can keep the overall spending within the limits of what the President said he will accept while including twice the pork. Must be the Presidents fault. If he vetoes it he's blamed too.

I believe the chimp's agenda does not concern anybody or anything that they consider to be expendable. A soldier to them is expendable and so are the masses they govern. I think it is time for major changes in administrations AND HR and the Senate. Until that happens we should not expect anything to be done. Also, I think it is unfair to label poor government service when it comes to the entire country - no one knows for sure what will happen - we can guess but that is wrong to imagine what could happen if there was universal health care.

Why do the Democrats in Congress try to screw Brave Veterens by attempting to cut funding from the troops and by not doing thier jobs to create legislation to protect veterens and give them the assistance they need?

Yes, the congressmen we have elected are just as responsible and have just as much power as the president to create this much needed legistaltion. Why do you only want to blame Bush?
