Unless you murdered this person or knew they were dying and did nothing to help them (within your power of course) then no you should not feel at fault.

I'm sorry for your loss and am praying for you.

Without having more information it can be difficult to answer this kind of question.

Keeping that in mind - More than likely the answer is NO, it's NOT your fault. From the way you phrased this question "a death occured..." it doesn't seem like you CAUSED this death. It is perfectly natural to have feelings of guilt after loosing a loved one, but to try and assume responsibility is wrong.

Bad things just happen sometimes. It's not your fault, and it's not their fault (I'm assuming it wasn't a suicide. If it was, then they are a LITTLE at fault, but they weren't in their right mind), it just happens.

I hope this helps, and maybe you should talk to someone? Like a counselor or a leader of your religious organization.

No, unless the death was cause by you (like as in you murdered that person).
Otherwise, it was that persons time to go... and you have to accept that they're gone but in a better place. It's common for you to feel it's your fault, but it's not. Coping with the loss of a loved one is always difficult and sometimes we blame our selves but it's part of the healing process. Just know that it's not your fault, death happens.

It depends on the circumstances. If you were driving the car that killed another family member, yes I would think it is your fault. If it is a suicide, you never can hold your self responsible. Think of it this way....that person had chosen not to continue living. You may have been able to stop him or her once or twice but not forever. If they are intent on doing it, they will get it done. I'm sure you are sad. I will say a little prayer for you.

Of course not. I believe that every persons death is predetermined. It has already been decided--- the time, date and place--- irregardless of the circumstances that led up to it, or the happenings that surround it, it is merely Fate. Take it easy on yourself, as it has nothing to do with you. It is the Holidays and forgiveness for any guilt you have is not only necessary, it is beneficial to your state of mind.

If someone who was close to you died in your family know you should not feel like it was your fault because we all are born and we all must die, remember that god has loved them more than you and they will be okay.

best of luck

instead of deciding whose fault it was try connecting with your feelings:

i feel sad. i feel regretful. i feel overwhelmed.

decide what you will do:
i will journal about these feelings
i will talk to a counselor about these feelings
i will go to the graveyard and write poems about my relationship with the person
i will lie in bed and ask god for forgiveness
i will ....

we have no way of knowing that, however, most people suffer through a bit of survivor's guilt at the passing of a loved one. if it continues go speak to your doctor. sorry for your loss.
take care.

We don't really have a lot of information to go on here......
