With his stats (#1 in the league for GAA at 1.76, and #2 in saves at .929%), is anyone writing in Chris Osgood for the All Star team?

Chris Osgood will not be going to the All-Star Game

Not because of what the people above wrote, but because his team is too damn good.

Each All-star side has 23 players, 3 goalies and 20 skaters. Each team must have one representative. So, that means that teams with multiple representatives will be at a minimum. Detroit already has Datsyuk, Zetterberg and Lidstrom being voted in. Calgary appears to have Iginla and Phaneuf. That doesn't leave a lot for other teams (18 players from 13 teams). So, the chances of Osgood becoming a 4th Red Wing on the team is slim and none.

i dont think that he will, but its a shame. He could start for 85% of the teams in the league this year. I think it is time for the Wings to put Hasek on the back burner and let Osgood be number one. His stats prove he can still play at an amazing level. I dont think the fact that the wings have 4 locks going to the allstar game means osgood cant go. There is no limit on how many you can have from each team.

The problem with write ins is Im pretty sure you are only allowed to use one per vote, and there are a lot of write ins that are at least somewhat worthy of making it to the all star game. Ozzy definately wont make it in through fan voting, but may get brought in as the 3rd goaltender.

unfortunately, no.
hes been amazing this year and should be there.

all-star voting is a joke. explain how huet is the leading vote getter in the east for goaltenders? no one outside of montreal wants to watch him.

nope

he is a backup which mean he dont get enough time to show more of his stuff and thus either improve his numbers or the other way around. Backup goalie dont usually make it to all-star game. All-star game is like a popularity contest if you know what i mean.

I agree with asian, he is the best goalie in the league right now, but won't get in because of his name.

Last time i checked i think Patrick Roy was 3rd in the voting . . . .

He should but he won't.

The All-Star game is all about the name on the back of the jersey, not stats.

probably as backup goalie.

the only reason i say this is because Detroit hasn't given him enough exposure, he is only in when Old Man Hasek hurts his hip.

i don't think he will make starter, i am convinced he wont, but he quite possibly could make backup
