Did you tell him what you wanted? You tell us you want all that frilly girly stuff, does he know that? By the sound of it, you married a geek. That's not a bad thing, I'm a geek too. However, as a fellow geek, I can promise you that him buying you a frilly girly thing is as foreign to him as an "AthlonXP 1700+ with 1 GB DDR" is to you. He tried, by getting you a present that any geek would love. I mean, a GPS! That's a great gift! Anyhow, try telling him what you want. Give him a list if you must... In other words, don't tell US you want Chanel, tell HIM. If he still doesn't get the hint, buy him a black dress...

maybe he bought those items for you to be used. GPS and iphones are great for traveling, especially in times of danger and confusion and such. i love those coach purses too, but there are more useful things to blow 400$ on, such as a GPS. even if you dont want it, it'd more thoughtful to accept them and just use them. not everyone has a husband that'll buy them a 400$ phone with a 100$ monthly plan. common courtesy, and he's not weird. He's keeping up with technology and making sure you're caught up too. . a purse will not tell you that theres going to be bad weather in 30 minutes or help you find certain restaurants in your area.

Take it from someone who doesn't like expensive phones or electronics - iPhone is mind-blowing; once you start using it, you'll never want to go back to a boring old phone. Seriously. My husband got me one last year, and now it's practically an extension of me. Give it a shot.

well he wants you to like the same things he does, I would just take it back. It might hurt his feelings but I doubt he'll do that again in the future.

Sounds like you married a selfish and controlling geek.

Let me guess, you married him for security because he makes good money at his geek job right?

Ask him this same question. He might be buying for himself but maybe he just does not get it.
