I'm a type II diabetic, and trust me he CRAVES sweets. We all do.

I'm at work right now so I can't poke around too much, but if you were to google "splenda", "diabetic" and maybe "fudge" or "cookies" you'll find a ton of recipes he can eat that'll keep him from breaking his diet on all the sweets that ARE around. That 12 bucks will buy a pound of sugar substitute and enough ingredients to make a heck of a Xmas basket.

Possibly your local Hallmark store has a Christmas ornament appropriate for a Mr. Fix-It, such as a raccoon painting a house, or a bear sawing a log. (I'm not describing actual ornaments.)

In fact, I went looking, and Hallmark does have a 2007 ornament called Do-It-Yourselfer, costing $12.50. Borrow a little money and order it or find it in your area:

If you like, you could create coupons which offer to help him on a couple of projects, or to pack him a few lunches to carry to work. Does he need a lunchbox?

Does he like Tool Time or This Old House? You can buy him a DVD or videotape of those TV shows, or of a movie of a similar theme (The Money Pit?). You might find one on discount at Amazon.com.

Merry Christmas!

There are a lot of things you can get him. You can get him a new tool box set from Home Depot/Lowes (since he likes building and fixing things), a wallet, a jacket, a sweater, some dress shoes, a nice cologne from Macy's, some ties for special occasions, a foot massager/back massager (@ sears for only $19), a set of nice and warm pajamas, a nice terrycloth bathrobe, and etc.

Hope this helps!

chill breathe in and out, in and out. ok now why not buy him a colone set at walmart its only like $10 or get him a new wallet there pretty cheap, they are only like $10 also. Or go to his favorite shop where he buys all of his stuff from and but all $12 on a gift card.
