Obfuscated.gx is a trojan that displays Critical System Error messages in order to scam the user into buying fake remover software. I suggest that you update your antivirus program and do full scan. If that does not remove Obfuscated.gx, I strongly suggest that you download and scan you PC with a program called SpyNoMore, link below.

As it says it is a Trojan (Spyware)

For starters, download, update and run a full scan using the following product:
http://www.superantispyware.com/
SuperAntiSpyware is exceptional and will remove the majority of difficult Trojans and Worms, not just the easy ones.
If possible it is recommended that you load the application in normal mode but run it in Safe Mode. Safe Mode can be started by continually pressing F8 during the boot sequence. However, if you are badly infected you might need to run SuperAntiSpyware more than once to help clean your system. If the only infections now being shown are in System Restore, once you are completely satisfied that you can boot normally, you can either delete the infected restore points manually, or temporarily turn off System Restore.

Next to get a grip of any snippets still left behind download & run SpyWareTerminator
http://www.spywareterminator.com

In addition download, update & run Avira. Unlike a lot of the free antivirus applications this will give you real time protection and is very quick to load at boot up.
http://www.avira.com

Assuming you have some real awkward infections and the suggestions above failed to totally clean your system I suggest you download a Smitfraud removal program from:
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/desktop_software/desktop_security/smitfraudfix.cfm
Again if possible run in Safe Mode.

Be advised that some infections will corrupt or disable your resident security products so for completeness I have listed a couple of online scans that may help you get started:
Panda - http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/Ac...
Trend - http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Good luck & safe surfing.

Trojan.Win32.Obfuscated.gx (Trojan.Win32.agent.akk) is a fake trojan designed to scare users and enforce them to purchase rogue anti-spyware products such as IEDefender and AntiSpyPro. Obfuscated.gx may already come bundled with another software or it may appear through your browser security holes. Obfuscated.gx may change desktop settings, hijack web browser and display an annoying icon in the system tray.

It sounds like a Trojan Horse. I created a security Web site to help people remove viruses, trojans, and worms from their PC using FREE software. You can try using your own AV software but the problem is when you become infected most Trojans and Viruses disable your AV software so it wont be detected, therefore you need to go to an external Web site to be scanned and get the virus removed. You may not be unable to remove the virus or Trojan which means that you will need to reformat your PC as long as you are infected someone can use your PC to send out junk Email or infect other people computers using your own PC. They also have access to your PC to get in to your personal files. I always tell people to download the free AV scanning software and then unplug from the Internet so they dont risk infecting other PC's or sending out junk email. Please visit my security site and follow the instructions on how to scan for viruses and remove them. It also has FREE security software if you need something for the future. Do NOT think for a minute that Anti-Spyware will Fix this! People get so confused over Anti-Spyware and think that it is the same as Anti-Virus software, it is NOT! Anti-spyware is great and does a great job with cookies and things you can get when using your Web browser but can do NOTHING when it comes to your email that you open or the bad attachements that come with it.

That is a FAKE trojan... You have smitfraud, a type of malware that tries to scare you into buying a fake, rouge product.

These messages are often caused by the Vundo and/or Zlob family of trojans (which ARE real...) and you need to get rid of them as soon as possible.

You will need to fun smitfraudfix and vundofix to get rid of it.
Here are instructions and download; http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.php

MOST antivirus programs and only very few antispyware programs will be able to remove this...
You could try running SUPERAntiSpyware though which is a free and highly effective antispyware program.

well ive had that a couple times..
but i think its just a scam to get you to buy spyware protectors.

if you check your add/remove programs section it should be normal with all your intentional prgrams.

if it has additional programs like
Win.xp.setup??.//
and theres a picture of a computer next to it delete all of them! and quick.

try searching in your files and things for unwanted programs.

sure a spyware program could do it faster, but,
you know what you want to keep and what you dont want to keep.

i wish i could help more but i seem to be needed elsewhere.

heres my sn if you have any questions,
