i for one wouldn't mind seeing Johnny Number 5 return...sure hes technologicaly crap and annoying by todays standards - but surely he can't be as annoying as what was his name, dunno how to spell it - but that thing from star wars episode 1, phantom mence....'ja ja blinx'

Now, without losing focus on the initial question - which movies from the 80s are simply crying out for a sequel, or just which movie from the 80s did you like so much - that you would love to see return with sequel ? cmon - go nuts, i want suggestions and the most original unsung flicks will get the nod (and best answer).

i look forward to your prompt replies.

Alice, Alyece, sorry man i can't quite remember how to spell that - evidently they did. (make a short circuit 2). i knew that, i guess i forgot to mention that or it slipped my mind or the mere fact is the sequel was terrible.

"Buckaroo Banzai" and/or "Doctor Detroit"...

(edit, to questioner's edit)

...actually, they are presently working on a sequel to "The Lost Boys", but without the participation of Corey Haim; Corey Feldman's gonna be in it, though. The film's going straight to video, too...

...you'll be happy to know that Universal is presently toying with the idea of doing a sequel to "Sixteen Candles", with Molly Ringwald's character returning, but this time, she's the mom, and has a daughter with her own unique quirks and problems; not sure, at this point, if John Hughes is involved, though...

it fairly is the priority with many movies and the rationalization why they grow to be classics in way of life. They tried a Ferris Bueller television derivative sequence and it failed...miserably. Many sequels in contact in movies fail with the aid of fact they rehash the comparable jokes and characters from the 1st movie. The Goonies won't be able to truly be performed with the aid of fact how do you keep yet another undesirable community with a team of youngsters searching for one-eyed willy's treasure --- or yet another treasure for that be counted, lower back!?!? you won't be able to do it without looking like a crappy money grab. movies like Tron Legacy took purely approximately ten years of rewriting just to get the right storyline and entertainment mixture purely suitable. they have been harassing Speilberg with fanfare for an ET sequel for purely approximately 25 years. Many movies have tried and failed...Wall street: money on no account Sleeps, Wargames: The ineffective Code, lost Boys: The Tribe. Why take a classic and take a inspect to restoration what isn't broken?

Pretty In Pink - Who doesn't want to see Duckie now and maybe we can get a new Psychedelic Furs song out of it!

Goonies
Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai
Desperately Seeking Susan
Fast Times At Ridgemont High
Ferris Bueller's Day Off (may from his middle management job now!)
Toxic Avenger - I know there has been sequels but put this in the hands of Jerry Bruckheimer!!!!!

Ghostbuster, the first sequel just didn't cut it.

EDIT:

They are filming the Lost Boys sequel right now, it should be out next year. Goonies is in preproduction... but the storyline doesn't look promising.

Vision Quest II- Linda Fiorentino could probably use the work. She hasn't done anything of import since Dogma. Besides they don't make any good wrestling movies anymore ;o)
