I'm trying to come up with an interesting fantasy story twist. I have my story idea, but I'd like some ideas to intertwine with mine to make for a great story. If you have any ideas, they'd be greatly appreciated.

P.S. To those of you who responded so negatively: part of writing is learning from other people. Taking someone's story and using it as your own is not okay, but simply using someone's idea and changing it enough to make it your own is hardly plagiarism. Author of Fight Club and Choke, Chuck Palahnuik, takes people's real life stories and adapts them to his own creative ideas. It's merely a writing technique.

I've just read "Lord Foul's Bane" by Stephen Donaldson. It, too, is about someone who finds himself in an alternative world. At the end of the book, the protagonist finds himself faced with a decision - to continue living in a fantasy world where he is happy or to return to the real world where he is very miserable. You find in The Matrix a similar theme; Reality or fantasy - which is better? For instance, your hero may find himself deeply attached to someone in an alternative world and then discover that he is forced to return to his old life. I have no idea whether your book is to be light and amusing or something a little more serious but perhaps you might think of this as an interesting twist. And I think that reading other fantasy tales would give you a great many ideas and themes that you could use.

Creative minds and mind reading are not the same. We can't give you ideas to plagiarize without you giving us something about your story. Since this would jeopardize your financial potential, we are at a stale mate.
By the way when both parties stale mate at the end of book that is a great twist of fate. Don't you just love when the bad guy wins.

How about the idea of having the participants in a chat board become the main characters of your story. You can have total jerks - like the people on this thread that responded so negatively about your request, you can have psychos who roam the boards looking for girls, you can have bored housewifes looking for fulfillment, and tons and tons of teenagers who are supposed to be working who are wasting their lives on the boards!

Ya, but if I gave them to you, I couldn't use them in my book. i love Dragons! Also, not knowing your story, I can't create anything that might intertwine well. Need a little help. You know, through me a bone here... : ) Good Luck!

I'm not really sure what you are looking for since you haven't given the plot line or what the story is exactly about.
YES!
I am creative.
But in order for me to help you, you have to give me a little more.

Work with the concept of a hinge and let characters or events swing both ways. I like Melodrama because it is black and white with shades of gray in the transitions.
