Hopefully not the way it was... i mean, they had a Queen who was not even loyal to the country and was consequentially spending everything on dresses and gowns etc...
ooh, even though they called the Estates General to settle the financial crisis, they shouldn't have invited the third estate. i mean, the third estate wanted to settle things to their own end--they were 97% of the population. nobles, or second estate was only 2%, and the first estate, or clergy, was only 1%... as a result, French REVOLUTION.
their financial minister wasn't too bad though... well, until he was fired for working with the people...
huh. i'm not sure what france would have done for the financial crisis. their king was pretty incompetitant, you know.

They would have declared war on everyone (actually, they already did that) to hide the problems from the general population.
