Its different performing for friends as a preteen, and then not doing, and performing as a teen. Its hard to get past the "What will they think?" syndrome. What you are doing is good practice, keep looking for opportunities to perform, maybe look into getting some one to coach you, and practice, practice, practice.

Good: 1) I am very optimistic. No matter how bad a situation is, I always try to find something good about it. 2) I'm pretty musically talented. I can play the piano, drums, guitar, bass, clarinet, violin and the flute. (I can't sing though xD) 3) I'm very outspoken and opinionated. 4) I'm artistic. Bad: 1) I'm extremely lazy. Too lazy for my own good, really. Haha. 2) I'm very stubborn. This annoys a lot of people (Including myself sometimes, ha!) 3) I'm claustrophobic. 4) I'm a hypochondriac. Every time I read about an illness or condition, I convince myself that I have it (Even when I clearly don't. I once convinced myself that I had a brain tumor. I would not leave the hospital until they ordered an MRI, even though the doctors were certain I did not have a brain tumor lol). 5) I can be very rude when i'm in a bad mood. Someone can say hi and i'll tell them to shut up. I feel so bad afterwards, but it just happens and I can't control it. I could literally go on and on about the bad things, but i'll stop there.

Even if you aren't confident, fake it. No one knows how you feel on the inside, they only see what you let them. If you do that for long enough you actually start to believe it- which i'm sure you should any way since you stated that you've gotten plenty of compliments in the past. Lack of confidence leads to poor performance - up your confidence and the compliments will start rolling in again which will just boost your confidence even more. You say that you used to be extremely good at acting and loved singing - that kind of talent doesn't just disappear!! Don't let it go to waste! Good luck sweetie, I'm sure you are beautiful talented person - don't be afraid to let the world see it!! =)

sing into the mic, then play it backkk.
keep doing it for ahwile.
then put on a show for your family.
just a one song ordeal.
then try just singing with your friends for funn.
your likely to get compliments from them.

and singing in the shower is good practice. ;)

You have some pretty good ideas. Work on these ideas: acting is playing, playing is fun, whenever we have an opportunity to act we have an opportunity to have fun, so have fun whenever you audition or perform.
