Yes, mine was walking to school each and every day in the high snow. No school delays in those days. My school was actually 2 miles away. I went in the morning and home for lunch and back after lunch and home again. We walked everywhere. . Dad used the car for work and may be a small ride in the evening for ice cream, but that was it for the car. Here I go again down memory lane again, Thanks Tina.

When I was a child, we would go to Dad's family, then Mom's family, then to a grandparent's home and finally back to our house. I was sick and threw up at my father's Dad's house in Norwalk and sat on the sunny porch until I felt better. Those were long, tiresome days. Fortunately, living in Southern California, they were warm and sunny.
That was memorable but a better memory would be 1973 when I had my first Christmas with my wife, then fiancee. We were in my parents basement, now in Utah, at the time because the upstairs was not completely built yet. Afterwards, we drove down to L.A. together to meet her family. We have been traveling to L.A. for Christmas ever since.

My brothers, sisters and I were young, I guess I was around 8 or so, and were daring each other to go out carolling. None of us had ever done this before, so no one was very eager to go it alone. 5 or6 of us got up the nerve and it was snowing as big as softballs it seemed, but it was great, we all had a good time!!! That will stick with me forever.

Just off the top of my head...This year's Christmas is sort of special for me, because it marks the ten-year anniversary of when my family got our dog for Christmas. I remember my dad sent me out to the garage on Christmas morning after we had opened all the presents to go get something for him. I opened the door, and there she was: a little labrador retriever puppy dog, sitting right on the doormat with her tail wagging. She wouldn't sit still for anything, haha. After many different name-changes, we decided on "Happy". I can't believe it's been ten whole years that we've had her.

I was in Korea, as an LDS missionary. Decided on Christmas Eve to go to an orphanage with my companion and sing Christmas carols to all of about 30 orphans. Experience was amazing. Brought tears to the eyes to see them all so happy and appreciated for our "time." They were in the poorest of circumstances, but I was the one that received a "gift" that day.

Watching my dad play Santa when I was little. He did not realize that I was on the stairs watching him. He was putting together toys and telling my mom how he could not wait to see my face and watch me play with them. I never told him that story. He was the greatest dad ever. Miss him lots.
