Well most miners are free to get tattoo'd whenever they wish -- whether the parents are there or not.

Minors on the other hand are subject to laws of the state and the ethical standard of the artist. In my state a minor cannot be tattoo'd regardless of parental consent until they are 18, and in other states where I know artists who practice they can tattoo under 18 with parental consent -- but an ethical artist will not do it.

A tattoo is permanent....and it takes some serious decision making ability to determine whether or not to have one done.

Plenty of miners have tatts but I don't see why they would want their parents present.

EDIT: Oh did you mean minor? No, none of the states I've lived in allowed licensed artists to tattoo minors even with a parent present.

Miners can get whatever tattoos they want.

Most countries, though, have laws that restrict the right of a *minor* to get a tattoo.

What those laws are will depend on your country and or State.

In my State a minor can get a tattoo with parental permission.

One of my younger sons friends has a kid sister who got her "tramp stamp" at 13 with her parents consent.

Why would it be illegal to tattoo a miner?! Mining is a difficult and dangerous occupation. Those who engage in it should not have their substantive rights infringed simply because they serve society by extracting minerals from the ground.
Where would we be without coal, diamonds, and gold?

Geez, from the question, you'd think they were children!

In order to work as a miner, you have to be 18, so it's fine if they get tattoos, I don't think they need their parent's permission.

staring on the state which you reside in, the guidelines are distinctive. some tattoo shops won't tattoo minors, even inspite of the undeniable fact that others will persist with the regulation. as quickly as I went to get a tattoo at sixteen, i mandatory a photograph identity, a beginning certificates, and parent signature, and my parent mandatory a photograph identity.

Rules change from state to state. Most tattoo artists are regulated by the state and will not likely do it for you. They don't want to lose their license, get a lawsuit from minor in ten years if they didn't like that tattoo and so-forth.

as far as i know as long as the parent is there with them it is not illegal. i know a few places here in ohio will let your parents write a note but thats not a good thing. i think as long as a parent comes with the minor it should be all good.
