Take log to be log base 10:-
log (3x + 1) = 2
3x + 1 = 10²
3x + 1 = 100
3x = 99
x = 33

Raise 10 to the power of both sides. Then you get 3x + 1 = 100, and you should be able to solve that.

i think the answer is 1/3
becasue if you turn 3 into a fraction it would be 3/1 then you want to multiply it by something that you can add 1 to that will make 2
so if you take 3/1 x 1/3 it equals 1 then you add 1
3/1 x 1/3 + 1 = 2
if that is right will someone post it on here cause i want to know if i got that right. i think it is right

It depends on what you substitute for x then multiply what ever x is then with that answer add 1
