hi grade laptop already tryed uninstalling and installing my dvd drive . it seems two be reading the disks i put in but but same as usuall it says please insert a blank disk .ive been told im low on memory can this be the cause

Need so Info to be able to help you.
Model make and number would be nice.
1. Internal or external model
2. what is it a CDRW or DVDRW ...
3. How does this connect IDE, SATA, USB
4. what software are you using to run this drive?
5. Did you check all the cables (1 for data, 1 for power)
6. What kind of error messages are you getting?
After you post this info we may be able to help you.

Can't answer questions with information on the problem.
Like type of disc, error messages etc etc etc
Symptoms help too !
