i have a Plymouth neon 2001 and a few weeks ago i discovered a hole in the muffler so i asked my dad to change it for me, he did and i think he put a one with a bigger tip and it makes a lot of noise, that bothers me a lot, is there a way to make the muffler not make that sound without having to change it?

No, you would have to change it.

You should change it to one that fits. I have a 2001 Dodge neon and I HATE the way the muffler looks but it fits and doesn't make noise. Try mopar to find one that should fit better.

Dad must have put a performance muffler on it for you. If you don't like it, then get a OEM muffler and replace it yourself. At least have Dad watch you while you do it. Then the next time you can take care of it yourself.
