Players are not blaming the use of steroids, just stating the facts that they do need it to recover from injury. That's why some get prescribed steroids for asthma and to lessen inflammation and regain range of motion in extremities.
I use steroids every day for asthma and back pain, but the only adverse affect is eyesight getting weaker sometimes. I don't see how steroids can ever help with ballplayers' performance if that's the case. It does not even build muscle! I'm living proof that I can't hit a HR or throw a fastball even if I take steroids every day! The haters suck!

I don't understand every idiot on this that says "who cares, lets make everyone do steroids". Fine lets tell every athlete in the world to take steroids which are extremely hazardous to your health in many ways. Chris Benoit of the WWE took steroids and wound up killing his whole family and himself. Also lets erase every baseball record in the past that was set by real players who didn't take steroids because they will be surpassed easily by these players who do use steroids. These are ridiculous arguments by stupid people. Stop and think for a minute.

Every athlete that is in for the win, and has the genetics and power to do so needs steroids to win. It has been like this for the last 40/50 years. A good athlete cannot get caught when he has his things in order.
A lot of people underestimate the power of chemicals like steroids, and growth hormone and other substances.

Harmfull? Where is the proof? Been doing steroids for years and it only bettered my health.

That ignores a profoundly serious problem: steroids are very dangerous for adolescents - and with the example set by professional athletes, these kids are getting and using steroids - and hundreds of them are turning up in hospital emergency rooms like mine every year - turning up critically ill - and a good many are dying due to the misuse of these drugs. And you better believe they're drugs just as dangerous as crack, Ecstasy heroin and Oxycontin. Far as I'm concerned, any pro athlete caught using the stuff should be jailed for a minimum of eight years and banned from pro sports for life!

Steroids are on the list of banned drugs and I believe it should stay that way. The game is about natural talent and competition and not drug induced superficial ability that is purchased from a drug dealer.

i think america's reputation in world sports is bad enough already...
sports are supposed to be about your own athletic prowess. if you take drugs that beef up or enhance certain aspects of your physique, then that isn't natural.
i've accepted the fact that i'll never be a big league ball player... i'm human and those are my limitations.
they are a lot better than me and 'still' feel the need to take additives..
