I believe children ARE impressionable.. and their "heros", are people in a position to teach them, to be productive and positive human beings.
A good example are any of the players in the NFL/MBL/NHL/NBA who stay out of trouble, keep their private lives out of the news, and do good works for children, and charity.
I don't like seeing children dressing like a bunch of thugs, because they admire rappers, or like pop tarts, because they want to emulate Britney Spears.. and I certainly don't want them thinking they can abuse animals, lie to the authorities, gamble and act like the court system means nothing, like Michael Vick.

I don't think kids are really that dumb. I mean Mike Vick's fans that are children are not running out and killing dogs. I think that goes for guys caught with drugs or guns or whatever. I mean if that was the case you would also have to look at rappers and wonder the same thing.
I think they know enough not to "follow".

Yes. If you don't believe me, watch how kids celebrate their touchdowns when they are playing football with thier friends just for fun. Look familiar?

Absolutely. I specifically hate it when people try to say that they should legalize steroids and let pro athletes use them. I sure as hell don't want my son or daughter thinking the only way to pursue a career in sports is by wrecking their body with steroids in high school.

It obviously starts with parents...But, you're talking about guys, many of which should consider themselves lucky, who are living the good life...Without football, lets face it...Many of them would be in prison...The least they could do is realize with every paycheck that kids might look up to them...God knows they could AFFORD to do that...

any parent who spends more than 15 minutes with their kids can point out what is right and wrong about football players.

My son watched as Bill Parcells had anal sex with my wife. That was not the best move on my part.
