i do a tune up on my trucks every summer . so i would say do it every summer

Read the owners manual. The manufacturer will recommend tune up intervals. On the newer cars, the say around 100K miles.

If you notice any problems then have it checked out and get a tune up then if it's needed.

"Tune-ups" are kind of vague service nowadays. There is very little to "tune-up" in modern cars compared to the old carburated cars. Follow the maintenance schedule in your car and avoid any "tune-up" ripoff specials that the chains might be running.

Every 30,000 miles or 24 months, which ever occurs frist for non-platinum plugs. Platinum plugs, every 100,000 miles or 5 years.
