I have trouble watching this film, but when i watch films like friday 13th, nightmare on elm street don't scare me at all and is more funny. There is some thing about the exorcist that really creeps me out. The masturbation scene and the ending when the priest gets the demand inside him is pretty disturbing for me. The last time i watched it i had to have the lights on five nights straight.

I think that any horror film with a religious overtone is more scary, because, they dwell on the unknown and things that may possibly happen. Plus, The Exorcist dealt with a child as the focus of the film and that is always more disturbing. The Exorcist and The Shining are my top two scariest favorites.

Well the Exorcist was made indeed to disgust and disturb the viewers, and it shows a more close reality that fictional Fredy Crooger, I suggest you stop watching horror flicks and stay put on Comedy. I saw all the exorcist saga and I find it absurd in all the meaning of the world, not at all scary.

No, it's a scary movie.

The Freddie and Jason type movies are just silly.

My favorite is the first Poltergeist. I've seen it a dozen times, and it still scares me!

And I love The Blair Witch Project, too!

Different things scare different people. The only movies that have ever scared me were Cujo (because I love dogs and have always had one) and The Blair Witch Project, an admission that often makes people laugh at me. I don't care - I hate the woods!

Nothing wrong with that.
Many people list the Exorcist among the scariest movies ever made.

I personally don't think it's that creepy, a little, but not terrifying.

I guess what scares you is just like what you think is bueatiful, it varies from person to person and there is no accounting for it.

I tried watching the Exorcist when I was a kid and couldn't watch it all. It really freaked me out.

And althought I hate to admit it, I agree with the above poster - Blair Witch Project freaked me out too.
