That's a religious question, not a medical question, and different religious groups treat it differently. If you care, then find out what the policy is in your faith. (If you don't like the answer, you might shop around for a new faith.)

I honestly can't see what the problem would be.

The science...

If you dont masterbate, your body will do it anyway, especially for males by the use of wet dreams.

Secondly, dont you think the devil can trick you in to feeling guilt, to make you look for alternatives instead of self masterbation, infact if I dont let it out here and there (by that I mean once a day my friend) - then I tend to be more sexually active outside the home..

However I am not saying its not a sin, I am simply telling you it is an alternative that most people take to keep themselves out of trouble (sins which have a greater punishment)

It is hard to deny that it is not highly pleasurable, and since its there, and it doesnt cause any harm, then I personally believe it is a gift - use it dammit!

In some religions, yes. Is it really? Highly doubtful, since it's normal, natural and good for you with no bad consequences. You should ask your religious leader if your religion considers it a sin, and if it does, how long often did he masturbate when he was your age.

It will make you go blind. It will make your palms grow hairy. Such myths about masturbation are largely a thing of the past. But the latest research has even better news for young men: frequent self-pleasuring could protect against the most common kind of cancer.

A team in Australia led by Graham Giles of The Cancer Council Victoria in Melbourne asked 1079 men with prostate cancer to fill in a questionnaire detailing their sexual habits, and compared their responses with those of 1259 healthy men of the same age. The team concludes that the more men ejaculate between the ages of 20 and 50, the less likely they are to develop prostate cancer.

The protective effect is greatest while men are in their twenties: those who had ejaculated more than five times per week in their twenties, for instance, were one-third less likely to develop aggressive prostate cancer later in life (BJU International, vol 92, p 211).

The results contradict those of previous studies, which have suggested that having had many sexual partners, or a high frequency of sexual activity, increases the risk of prostate cancer by up to 40 per cent. The key difference is that these earlier studies defined sexual activity as sexual intercourse, whereas the latest study focused on the number of ejaculations, whether or not intercourse was involved.

The team speculates that infections caused by intercourse may increase the risk of prostate cancer. "Had we been able to remove ejaculations associated with sexual intercourse, there should have been an even stronger protective effect of other ejaculations," they suggest. "Men have many ways of using their prostate which do not involve women or other men," Giles adds

I believe it says in the bible your *** should not touch the earth, so yeah, its a sin, you have to shoot your load into a women, but what about wet dreams, and when a bit of *** comes out of the girl, I mean a real sin is to hurt someone else, if an atheist thins it not right to do, then that is a real sin.

What is sin? Who defines what sin is? If you are referring to biblical sources, masterbation is not specifically listed as a "sin". Keep in mind that religions, all of them, are man-made philosophical concepts to explain nature and man's existence. So any so called sins are simply one man's or group's philosophical opinions, and you as an individual can choose to accept others' opinions as facts per se, or make up your own mind.

lol, if it is every man woman and child on this planet are going to hell, whether they want to admit it or not. Masturbation is a totally natural thing to do, and frankly, if some church tells me it's a sin, I don't want to go to their idea of what heaven would be.

God gave us two hands for something. And if he really didn´t want us to masturbate the hands would be where the elbows are, not hanging there just at the perfect distance. (He doesn´t watch when we masturbate either. That would be kind of sick!)

There are two perspectives. If you keep thinking about sex and lust for it, and masturbate just because of it, then yes its a sin.

However, if one day you 'accidently' glanced across your neighbours toilet and you see nice things and you get the urge, then its just lifting your urge so i dont think thats a sin.
