I believe I do it everyday that I go to work and everyday that I am a mom Ms. Judy.
I am one of those teachers who really tries to make a difference. In my opinion 5 X 2 is not more important than teaching kids to be respectful, caring, and fair. I teach my kids how to be great students, but I also try and teach them how to be responsible and kind human beings. It's funny, but when my kids come back to visit me later on they never remember all the facts they've learned, but they always remember the life skills I taught them and how I made them feel.
The same goes with my son. I am trying my darndest to make sure he is a good boy with a caring heart and that he grows up to be a resposible citizen.
If this world is going to have a chance I figure it has to start with our kids and so many parents today just aren't getting that. I may not be everyone's mother ... but when they spend time with me I do everything I can to make them understand we are all in this togetehr and if we can't "get" that ... none of us are going to continue to be here ... period!
