Some girls do ask guys out.
It is traditionally the role of the guy to pursue and impress the girl, not the other way round.

I've asked out a guy before and it's not because i'm easy or cheap. I'm just the type that when I want something i'll go after it. I think alot of girls don't ask a guy out because they're afraid of being rejected and abviously it's always been that way, a guy usually asks the girl out. I remember the first time I asked a guy out he said no, now turns out he's gay. The second guy I asked out he wanted to ask me out but was too shy & he thought I would say no even though my friends kept telling him that I would say yes. He was too shy so I asked him & we ended up going out for a year in a half.

I have waited for a guy to talk to me and I have also talked to a guy up front. Fear is usually the answer and sometimes us girls don't want to appear to easy. Not to sound conceited but sometimes we may like or be liked by more than one person and for a guy to have the courage to talk to us makes him already ahead of the rest. Sometimes I am naive and can't tell if a guy is interested unless he asks me directly. I do not go up to a guy unless I know he is single and at least know what I want to say beforehand.

Agression of any kind is normally recessive in a female. But the agressiveness of males to their determent is changing that. So these days, picking the one you want has become a "thing to do". Life is so fast that the little mating dance scenarios from the old days take too long for many females.

Well once I just took the first step & be the one to say how I feel about him.
But like... It was kinda sad at the end he didn't like me at all...
So I won't do that again, maybe some girls have bad experiences about first steps, huh?
=)

Actually, in my youth, I had several girls ask me out.

Thank goodness, because I was soooooo shy. They gave me the confidence, and I later learned to get up the nerve.

It's all about confidence and self esteem. The girls who are happy, secure and confident within themselves will approach boys and ask them out.

Actually, more and more women are doing the approaching and first contact with guys. Some are still too shy about it or fear the same thing a lot of guys fear (rejection).
