HP Director?

Is it possible to down load HP Director from the internet. A friend would like to use it but does not have an HP printer.

I used to have an HP printer which came with the HP director program and though the printer has long gone I still find that Director is useful for stitching panoramic scenes together and for producing greeting cards.

I cant think why someone would want the HP Director but doesnt have the printer. Surely this only supports the printer doesnt it. I would be curious to know if I`m wrong
