I'm running low on 'Cascade' for my dishwasher. Of course, I'm going to buy some more, but what would happen if I used normal dishwashing liquid like 'Palmolive' in my dishwasher?
Is this also okay?

You will be cleaning bubbles out of your floor for the rest of the night. I recommend using a cup of white vinegar & a half cup of baking soda instead.:)

I learned this at a young age while my mom was at work....water and soap suds will run out of your dishwasher and all over the floor. It took forever to clean up! Detergent for dishwashers have a low sudsing ingredients...Best to just wait until you get something made for dishwashers or wash them by hand.

I live in on base housing and recently made the same mistake. this is what the base contractor had me do. First, clear all the soap and water out of the dishwasher. If there are a lot of bubbles, table salt will make them burst. then, take about a cup of white vinegar and pour it into the little soap dispenser until the dispenser is full. then, sprinkle the rest in the bottom of the dishwasher. run on rinse cycle good luck!!

You will end up with a dishwasher full of suds. I've even seen the suds come out of the dishwasher and all over the floor. Wait till you get the regular stuff.

it will over sud and make a mess. Its also not recommended for actually being strong enough to clean them the way dishwasher soap is designed to.Reg dishsoap is ment to be reapplied when needed and wont do that in the dishwasher.

In a pinch, pour in about 1/4 cup of bleach and a couple tablespoons baking soda. After the cycle dry the dishes by hand so they won't be spotty.

You don't want to do that: It will foam out all over your floor. I had to deal with something like this while cleaning a few times.
