I like Jasmine If you think it's to common then try it like this Jazmin. Tazmine reminds me of taz the furry monster.

I looked up Jasmine at the Social Security site (I like it too), but it's been in the top 30 since 1992. There must be a lot of Jasmines out there. Tamsin is reeeallly British. Not a bad name, but I think of Tamsin Greig, who is a little strange.

I am naming my daughter Ingrid, and about 50% of the people I know dislike it. I don't care, and I think you should choose whatever you love (common, strange, whatever).

FYI: Tamsin has not cracked the top 1000 names in the US ever. The more I say it in my head, the more I like it!

It depends on where you live. If your little Tamsin lives Stateside, she's going to have a lot of aggravation with that name (she'll probably wind up going by "Tammy" as a nickname. Do you like that?). That won't be as much of an issue if you live in Britain.

Jasmine? Too many since the release of Disney's "Aladdin," I think.

EDIT: Since you're a Brit and you think Tamsin is a gorgeous name, then the choice is an easy one: Tamsin it is!

Tamsin sounds like a medication. I'd have to go with jasmine.

Well Jasmine is popular and I really dont like Tamsin...sounds to made up and odd...and that is what you are not looking for. I have heard Jasmina...kind of cute and a little different.
