Say you will pay some of the bill and pay the rest as soon as you have the money. Tell them you have just had a baby and need your electricity to heat the house. Tell them you have been having money problems and you can't pay what you don't have. If you make them an offer they should accept it

Pay a little bit if you can, and then ask them to "even" out your next payments to pay back the previous balance..
Or tell them you have a little baby in the house.
It is illegal in some states to cut power during the winter.
The good-looker clause might not work, since most of the power company customer service reps are ladies.
If none of that works, you can resort to crying on the phone.

Oh, this is so easy ....
Not to mention this has also happened to me.
When the guy with the plumbers butt showed up from the electric company to request final payment, I simply flashed him a boobie and he exclaimed:
"Hot diggity dog, lady!!!" and ran screaming back to his truck ... !
I am not sure if he was impressed or petrified . . .
But .... I haven't paid for power since ... :)

just tell them how pretty you are...and if that doesn't work, when they come to turn off the service, come out in a teddy and accidentally on purpose flash a little somethin' somethin'!!

you could ask them very nicely, bat you big eye lashes, and slip them a check for the amount due....works for me every time...
