Well, it's easy to think that Zeus (Roman Jupiter) is the God of War, considering he carries that really cool thunderbolt and whips it out anytime he gets pissed off!! But, no ... according to Greek mythology, Ares (Roman Mars) carries the official title.
Of course, if you want to get technical ... Athena (Roman Minerva) is the God of Tactical War, as opposed to Ares, the God of Violent War and Bloodlust!!
I forgot to mention ... Zeus is the Father of the Gods. He's also their King. Ares is the son of Zeus and his Sister/Queen, Hera. I think Zeus embodies all the qualities of all of the gods.
