i'd say jackson but i wasn't alive for most of the 80's so what do you think?

Michael Jackson definitely, it might have been because he was already known before the 80's along with the fact that he pioneered Pop music. He definitely was the bigger star, and he probably was the biggest star of the 80's. He still is the biggest star today. Even Eminem has said that he "has like a cajillion fans, he's more famous than the President, you think of Michael Jackson before you think of the President, that's how big he is."

Hmmmmmm, I think it would have to be Michael Jackson. He was HUGE during the 80's. I idolized both of them back then and even attempted to dress like Madonna. LOL She was a star back then as well but I think MJ might have sold more records.

They both were huge! Maybe Jackson just because he had the past as the Jackson 5. Then he had the facial, which gave him more popularity.
Bu Madonna was awesome and quite shocking.
