This is not an inflammatory question. I want to hear about things that I may have overlooked. I've pretty much already decided that I'm voting for Ron Paul if he's nominated, or runs as an independent. Nearly everything about him that I've read and heard is positive. I want you to point out bad things about him. I've got all the reasons to vote for him, but I want to be certain that I'm making the correct decision this time around.

I have heard that Ron Paul would supposedly harm financial aid for college students, but no supporting evidence was given for that claim. Please give supporting evidence for your claims.

Huevos, he didn't say that "America caused 9/11 and we deserved it." Al-Qaeda issued a fatwa against us, explaining the 3 of our offenses in the middle east. Paul explained this as their motivation, rather than labeling them as "crazy Muslims who want to convert the whole world to Islam and hate freedom", as most politicians want us to believe.

Even Muslims recognize the fact that if the whole world was Islamic, there would still be holy war between Shiite and Suni.

In the debate held in May of this year he said America caused 9/11 and that we deserved it. This alone should be reason enough for nobody to vote for, much less support this kook.

He is my only Rep choice...but I still have mixed feelings because he says things to certain crowds..his message seems to vary I don't know. I have been researching all candidates.. He has a lot of great ideas and he isn't afraid to bash the bush admin. which I can admire. He supports the constitution which is cool, but I think America is due for a revolution so I want someone who will change health care and our notions on War and how detrimental it is. I like Edwards, and Obama. I would also vote for Hilary though...I like the Governor from new Mexico too.. ( partially bc he legalized medical buds) Ron paul is the only Rep. I would want in office. So I guess there is a slight chance I might vote for him if it came down to a demo I didnt like which is very rare because I am liberal

he has made grandiose claims he is completely unable to carryout on his own. There is no support in congress for any of the following he professes he will do:
1. Shutdown the IRS
2. Shutdown the federal reserve bank
3. Shutdown other federal agencies such as the FCC and the FAA (unregulated planes sound like a great idea?)

Of course the Ron-Bots have jumped on the thumbs down parade. It does not matter that everything I said is true. The big reason they support him is because of the above claims. Anyone that understands the power of the president realizes the president can't do those things on his own. It's called reality.

I lived out of a truck from 18-21, and I didn't take a federal loan out while going to college. I worked hard, is that such a bad thing? Federal loans aren't the only types of loans you can get, and if you are smart, you can even get a scholarship.

I now pay a mortgage on a house (barely), run my own business, and I have a kid, plus a few amenities, nothing grandiose. Ron Paul seems to fit my principles best. The only way I would not vote for Ron Paul, is if someone younger, and a better speaker came out, with the exact same principles as him. In fact, if Huckabee was more like Paul, I would vote for him, but he's a polar opposite, and a slick talker, just like most politicians. Can't believe I was duped into liking him for a while there.

None of the other candidates so far, seem to be able to promise anything they can get done, and I'll go with the ones trying to suggest things, not promise things.

Because I'm afraid of liberty and I want my government to regulate all of my actions and thoughts. If the government doesn't control me, who will? I can't possibly do it by myself... can I?

Because he wouldn't get anything done...how is he supposed to get all of his extreme ideas through Congress? you think our govt. is broken now...he would get no support from either side.
