I asked a question about whether racism has gone too far in the UK. In the question I mentioned that two humans were of "nationalities". I have now been slated as a racist for designating them of nationalities rather than calling them humans, and told that to say someone is from any nation is name calling. For anyone who I offended by mentioning names of countries or suggesting anyone came from any particular country I apologise. I mentioned the words Christmas tree also. For anyone who found that offensive I also apologise.
I got called a "blue blood" (whatever that means), and a British bigot who is responsible for personally invading a country whos name I cant mention as that is racist. When I mentioned my ancestors were from several different nations I got told that to even mention it proved I was racist.
I give up. I am now officially designating MYSELF of no race, I dont even want to be a member of the human one. If I have to be in any race at all it's the 100 metre hurdles.

Having just logged on for the first time in ages, not having seen your previous question I have to agree.
First of all racism has gone too far. Most humans are not fit to be included in the concept of humanity, whatever their colour race or creed. I think all the differences in the world make it interesting. Only those who don't know better take extremist sides. If we did not acknowledge the differences then we are just kidding ourselves. There is no need for any of those differeces to be a bad thing, or noticing them to be racist. I think the only difference that should be cried out against is crass ignorance.
All those who spoke out against you obviously fit into the latter category.
I do fit into the 'blue blood' category but I won't say what country's, in case I 'upset' somebody! However, as my boyfriend likes to say 'I'm not racist, I hate everybody'

wow, that is SO racist of you to recognize someone by their nationality. i guess yahoo is being racist by making separate pages for separate countries.

people are idiots. i think you have nothing for which to apologize. there are plenty of topics about christmas on here, so don't even think about apologizing for that. it is pretty clear here that you're NOT racist at all, as you can recognize how people might take these things to mean something that they really don't. unfortunately, i think you got your answer to your question when people responded so negatively to that.

it's frustrating because the line between saying something racist and simply discussing a matter concerning race has become so skewed. it's obvious that if you want to talk about racism in a country or how bad it is, you aren't racist--you're addresssing the problem to see if there is a better solution out there. i don't know, i think you're totally in the clear. don't listen to those people--there are plenty of intelligent people who will want to discuss things like this on here, but it's frustrating when people try to stop that. good luck to you!

What was the deal with the Christmas tree. How can that be racist or degrading? You know, I really don't care anymore because it doesn't really matter what you say someone has a negative response anyway. So I say "Whatever". I'm not racist either, but don't worry about how others take it especially people that find something wrong with everybody.

I don't know what your previous question was but judging by what you are saying i reckon the fact that you say you feel racism has gone too far does not make you a racist. On the contrary you sound as if you are concerned about the level of racism in the UK and that indicates a kind and thoughtful person.I will just pop off and look at the question though and i'll be back.

Sorry,i've looked but can't see it.can you provide a link.

Oh, how insulting to say that someone is from a certain country! Oh, you should be whipped, tarred and feathered! Oh, I'm so insulted that you even brought it up.

Yes, I am being sarcastic. You are right, people do take things too far, WAY too far! Honestly, people who get upset so easily about nothing should take themselves out into a cave and stay away from the rest of us! There are real issues in this world that we should be worrying about instead of making up something to get insulted about.

You do not have to apologise to the PC gang. They are happy they have found something else to be offended about, now by apologising you have set yourself up again for someone in the PC mob to take offence at the terms of your apology
