When they did my ultrasound at 21 weeks that is when they will look for the heart defects on the fetus! I asked my u/s lady about it and she said they can see most things but couldn't catch everything if there was something wrong. So Im assuming at the Visit when you go to find out the sex that will be when then check for defects! But my Midwife was telling me just how rare heart defects are! Congrats!

When I was 20 something weeks the u/s tech could not see all chambers of the heart clearly so she sent me to another office to have one done. There at the office the other lady was able to see all clearly and baby has no defects. Scared the **** out of me! The can see mummers and unformed chambers...that's all I know!

At the sonogram mid-pregnancy you can see some. There are some that can not be detected until after birth.
