I for one would be willing to pay an additional tax to build more prisons to keep the criminals off the streets. It would be the best money I ever spent. Why does the government bother to arrest and convict criminals if they don't plan on having the facilities to hold them. And for the criminals it is just a slap on the wrist to put them in for a few months and then let them out. No wonder we have crime on the streets. No punishment.

Wow ROTL is really hard to get but I'm guessing as they were all in open prison they were nearing the end of their sentences and did not pose a risk to the public (You are automatically ineligible for ROTL if you are dangerous or pose any risk to the public)

But still they should know better and will be caught quickly.

Incidentaly 3 patients escaped from the Bethlem Royal Psychiatric Hospital in South London over the weekend, one of them, described as dangerous is still on the loose, I wonder why this hasn't had as much press?

This has been going on for years. Certainly not an isolated incident, never has been since day and weekend release first existed, that was a long time ago.
edit: temporary release introduced 1953

I'd be concerned about the murderer. Maybe he'd be better secured behind bars if the prisons weren't full of drug offenders.

Doesn,t actually look to bad when you look at the wanted list on crime watch.Mind you there names i can,t pronounce let alone spell. That's why our prisons are full i suppose,we do at least keep hold of them for a while, meaning our success is a failure,we do the others jobs for them.

'evening Kamran, Leaky Lodge lost a few more eh. You'd think they'd learn by now, losing prisoners nearly every week. And they are only the ones we hear about.

The Metro today published a photograph of a forty year old Muslim man and his eleven year old bride.Perhaps we would be better off worrying about the implications of that
