I'd really like a 2-colour fair-isle pattern for socks to make some for my dad!
I keep finding lists of free sock patterns with no pictures to quickly go through, can anyone help me, does anyone know of a good pattern somewhere out there on the web?

Cheat. Get yourself some space-dyed sock yarn in a jacquard pattern and let the yarn do the work for you. There are some nice *guy* colors from Regia and Opal for this. However, if you'd really like to do Fair Isle socks, find a book of FI patterns at the library and a nice plain sock pattern--there are lots of those-- and find a set of pirie (sp?) patterns whose multiple fits the stitch count and go to. Just remember to leave your floats just long enough to stretch to allow the foot to be inserted. This is how I made my last pair of FI socks.

I think it would be hard to find a free one because they're complicated, and the designers do need to be paid for their work. Here's one for $4.00, I think that's pretty cheap.
