Go the Baseball Cube . They have a great baseball search engine If you can remember what anyone did in that game, you can find it .Just set the search parameters. For ex, if you knew that the rookie second baseman had 3 doubles
This would be the search :
Team: Cincinnati
Time: 1960 - 1969
Player position: 2B
Player experience: < 1yr
Month: All
Day :All
Date: All
Stat: Doubles
Qty: 3

I'm paraphrasing, but that's about how it works. You might also try baseballalmanac.com, or Elias Sports Bureau.
Good luck .

baseball-reference.com is a great place to find information like this. Click on the link below. Then, if you click on the year, and then "schedule" you'll see the scores of all the games played that year. You can look at the box scores too.

It may take some hunting but you should be able to find the info you want here.

I'm having trouble finding much information about the rain, but I did find a doubleheader in Cincinnati where Houston lost both games. It was on July 15, 1962:

Do you know if it happened that early, or was it a later year?
