You might need a new battery. Your battery might have run out of juice, so it can't recharge anymore.
You might have bricked it. Did you turn the PSP off while it was installing an update? If you did, then you bricked it. The only way to fix it is using something called Pandora's battery. Use at your own risk. But if you bricked it, there's really nothing to lose.

Try using Pandoras Battery which you can buy from ebay or maby a friend has it or maby you need a new battery. Pandoras battery is free though and it would be good to try that first it will unbrick your psp if that is what the problem is.

mine was doing something funky and I popped the battery out and put it back in and now it seems ok. Or maybe you need a new battery? It is charged, yes?

well looks like u need some profesional help. U shoould contact sony or your nearest games shop. if not buy a new one.
