That is a very long list but the MAJOR allies were Great Britain, France, Canada, Australia, Belgium (though both Belgium and France were occupied they still had a fighting force with the Allied powers)

And of course the Soviet Union and China.

that is the Major ones but not all of them. That would be a HUGE list.

Oh and officially Italy swapped to our side after 1943 but the country was divided in two with the Allies controlling the South and the Germans with Mussolini and his few loyalist in the North.

Yeah it definitely was not Japan. Japan was part of the Axis powers, an alliance between Japan, Germany, and Italy. After the US joined the war after Pearl Harbor, our main allies were England and Russia, due to the fact that France was occupied by Germany. There were a few other minor allies, but England and Russia were the main ones.

Clarify: are you talking about allies as in friends/supporters, or The Allies as in the faction? The US had many, many allies who were not otherwise combatants so they were not Allies.

The Axis was Germany, Italy and Japan. They had few allies, really and what they had was mostly countries that had been conquered (Austria, Poland, Turkey, Egypt for a short while).

A lot of countries stayed neutral (South Africa, for instance) while others were "neutral" only in that they didn't actively participate but nonetheless supported one side or the other (Spain supported Germany but was "neutral").

Check the web for all the countrys who owed the US war debts at the end of 1946 then add Finland. Finland being the only country to my knowledge to have paid it's war debt back to the US. That should give you a list of all the Allied countries.
