It develops strong and winter-resistant roots. It is often applied during the winter to insure a strong lawn the following spring. Unlike phosphorus it does not overly stimulate lawn grasses' tendency to create annoying seedheads.

it basicly is same as phosphate it will help stimulate new root develpment. it does not do much to well established root system though. I have been in lawncare for 10 years if that helps
