e. A President who seeks to limit the powers of the Presidency (any party would do)

A Legislative branch that passes legislation which is within the bounds of the Constitution...and a requirement that bills are read before voted on.

A people who demand the government obey their oaths of office. A people who understand and care about their own individual rights, and the responsibility they have for their own lives.

A) But if Democrats had the Justices of the Supreme Court as well that would not be good (like the Republicans has for a while). Everyone needs to be kept in checks and balance.

yes, the Clinton years had a mix.. and did well for a while.. but look what it lead to? A Congress wasting money and taking stabs at a President just to drag down the other parties political pull. I'm in no hurry to repeat that.

a. Democrat President, Democrat-controlled Congress.
(However, the Democrats must not follow in the footsteps of the Republicans by becoming a "rubber stamp" Congress.) We had 6 years of a Republican president and Republican controlled Congress, now it's time to try it with Democrats in controll of both. Checks and balances if you will...

It's better is the president and the congress are different parties. Keeps them in check and doesn't give too much power to either party.

Well, we have D now and Bush is finally starting to veto bills....so C is obviously no good.

I'd like E with a competent President, either Rep. or Dem. with the opposite party controlled Congress.
