Will you see yourself die? You have immortality my friend

forever is a long time, my friend. in 5 billion years, the sun may explode, and that wouldn't bode well for trying to stay on earth that long. the rest of the universe may not necessarily last "forever" either, and life would probably go along with it. probably we could live forever by redifining "life" and determining some other means of existence that is not subject to a mostly stable environment.

Assuming you mean literal living, I suppose cloning yourself indefinitely might work, or cryopreservation until the technology comes about to replace cells and organs reliably. We could get to some Kurzweilian future in which AI can be endowed with human qualities, and you could load your memories and behavior into a digital proxy. I think for now you'll have to settle with figurative longevity, as in the legacy of preserved expression or work. (Or the afterlife, if you believe that sort of thing.)

Reminds me of the Epic of Gilgamesh who went to all lengths to learn how to live forever. Read his story to find out what he found :-)

Physically, our body cannot live forever - atleast with the knowledge that we have, of our body and the universe now. But yes, we can live in the minds of the people and posterity forever, because of our thougts, deeds, and words. Great men in the past still live in our memories and minds that way. We remember people who built and destroyed empires. Men who wrote great literature, or created everlasting works of art; men who defined science by their inventions and discoveries; people who built great reilgious places etc, still remain as proofs that it is possible to be immortal in the minds of the future.

All the best with your quest for immortality !!!

You can not and it is a waste of energy to try. Soon you will be a collection of bones and a name, or not even a name. The universe is in constant change and the atoms that make up your body today will be a tree or a cloud a century from now. We should not fear or struggle against this as it is the way of things.

Mandkind will come to it`s end, legacies of old philosophers will be lost and universe will change. The only way is to "feel the touch" of eternity by revealing true of this world to your spirit. You cannot live forever.

Impossible at this time, though I would look into lucid dreaming, in which you are conscious in mind while your body falls asleep and enters REM dreaming states. Our minds perceives time vastly different in dreams, and the topic is not widely studied. There are theories of how to actually stretch time in dreams.
