I'm supposed to be having a baby girl in March and I'm torn between 2 names.
-Dakota Jade
-Hayley Jade
Also, there are so many different spelling for Hayley (Hailey*
(Hailee, Hailie, Haleigh, Haley, Hali, Halie, Haylee, Hayleigh, Hayley, Haylie), having a hard time which one I like.
Oh and Jade is staying as the middle name NO matter what!
SO which one do u like more & if a Hayley lover, which version?

wow I'd like to comment one one post that was a little rude. AND a matter of fact I did pick Dakota because of the Native American meaning(oh I'm 1/4 Northern Cherokee Nation of the Old Louisiana Territory. I have my enrollment card numbers if u dont believe me!!!) And its meaning derived from the Siouan word dakota (allies, to be thought of as friends)
Also I had no idea anyone else used the combo of Hayley and Jade and could care less.

Dakota Jade, since Hayley is much more popular right now. I tend to like the "simple" spellings of any given name, so I'd prefer Haley or Hayley over some of the others. Jade is a wonderful middle name- I also like Pearl as a middle name- also a gemstone.

I think Hayley Jade sounds nice. I'm a big fan of the name Hayley and I think Hailey Jade spelled this way is the best way to spell Hailey.

Hayley Jade is nice. No matter how many times I've met a little girl named 'Dakota' it still sounds more like a boy's name to me. There are so many different spellings of Hayley because people just want to do things a little differently. I believe Hailey is the most traditional spelling, but your way is nice also. Think carefully before spelling your child's name in a unique way. You don't want to force your little girl to correct people's spelling all the time.

Hayley is my favorite spelling of the name
My daughter is Hayley Elizabeth
Close family and friends call her Halo
She is my angel, gift from god
I would go with Hayley
Some people say it's the trendy spelling, but I got the spelling from Hayley Mills from the parent trap. The movie was made before I was born. I think it's was one of the first spelling of the name
Dakota Jade is pretty too
I think either name is good, I would go with Hayley

Im not actually too fond of either one, but thats strictly because i know 6 Haley's ( not exagerating) but, out of the two names i would pick Haley over Dakota, and my favorite spelling is Haley, and thats also because Hali and Halie might be mistaken for HALLY you know with a short A.
but Jade is a beautiful middle name

Hmm.. I love Jade as the middle name. The first names, I am not crazy about, but Hayley is very common right now, so I would probably go with Dakota.

Dakota is trendy, overused and even offensive (unless you ARE of Dakota heritage, but somehow I doubt that LOL).
Would you name your child Japanese, Jewish or Yoruba without ties to those specific nationalities/cultures? I seriously hope not. Just because a cultural name that is sacred to some has become a randomly trendy choice among ignorant parents doesn't necessarily make it a GOOD choice, to be frank.
Hayley is fine, popularity aside, and I'd stick with either this spelling (most traditional) or Hailey (most common in the states). No reason to even consider any of the others, since they aren't the original forms and will only serve to create more confusion (after all, no one will inherently assume a misspelling like "Haleigh," if you know what I mean). Just an unnecessary hassle, really.
I would, however, consider avoiding the overly-literal celeb connection with the combo "Hayley Jade." In case you're not familiar, this is the exact name of rapper Eminem/Marshall Mather's daughter (the Hailie misspelling, I believe), and referenced in many of his songs. So even if you didn't intend the association, or aren't even familiar with the man himself, many will assume you ARE a huge fan of the genre and purposefully named your daughter after his.
Ps. Dakota is an equally overused choice, by the way. Contrary to some previous comments, it's been in the top 200 -- for boys -- for nearly 20 years now. Top 100 more than half of those years, in fact! Not uncommon in the least! LOL Just thought the accurate numbers might help.
