The formula for the area of a circle is:
A = π r²

Substitute in your given radius of π for r.
A = π * π²
A = π³
A ≈ 31.0062767 sq. units

The answer is:
(d) π³

This is hardly a difficult question for the average middle school student, though considering someone made a TV show called "are you smarter than a fifth grader", maybe it is understandable, but from a "Top contributer", it seems out of place

So what is the point of the question, and what is up with all the thumbs down? Sure one answer spelled Pi "Pie" but does that really rate a thumbs down? Swapping the area and radius of a "unit circle" is a silly error, but it looks like someone is gratuitously giving thumbs down.

With 10 (now 11) answers it is not really a very successful troll, thought for the maybe for the mathematics section it is, but take a look in religion or politics sometime for some productive trolls.

Substituting 16π for A gives you: 16π = πr^2 now divide both sides by π 16 = r^2 now take the square root of both sides 4 = r

Hi,

For this question, remember that the area of a circle is equal to the following: Area = pi r^2.

Now, at this point, if the radius is equal to pi, we can therefore substitute this value into the given equation to get:

Area = pi (pi)^2

Next, notice that we can substitute the above equation to get:

Area = pi ^ 3 <==== FINAL ANSWER

I hope that helps you out! Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Sincerely,

Andrew

d
Area = Pi R^2
So, since the radius is Pi also:
Pi times Pi times Pi equals Pi cubed.
