Just enough to have a mild buzzzz. You don't want get carried away or come down with loose lip syndrome. What might seem funny at the time could end up being a nightmare tomorrow morning when you open your eyes and have to head back into work. Hey if the girls want to sit on the photo copier and run off a few all the power to them.

Well, depends on if anyone else will be drinking, whether or not you are driving, and whether or not you can control yourself!
If...
No one else is drinking, you are driving, and/or you can't control your drinking... 0!
If...
Others are drinking, too, you have someone else to drive (a designated driver or a cab), and you can control yourself and stop at a certain number, then 1 or 2... You don't want to look like the town drunk, either!

Pace yourself. Don't stay by one person for too long, get out and mingle, don't act drunk, sneak some water every once in a while, and think before you talk.
The first things to go is your inhibitions. Don't get dramatic and start telling people what you really think.

Absolutely no more than 1 alcoholic drink per hour, less if the party is during business hours, and intersperse glasses of water/juice, etc.

Limit it yourself to one, then order plain coke or water with lemon.
I have seen way too many people get sloshed at office parties and end up making fools of themselves!

One drink, then, switch to soda. Being drunk at an office party can have very bad results.
