Both republicans and democrats are part of government. Candidates from both parties are trying AS HARD AS THEY CAN to become part of the government. All political parties fully trust government or they wouldn't be trying to become the government. Those that don't trust government don't participate in it. Iraqi insurgents are a good example of those who don't trust their government, they don't participate, they fight it.

To run for a government office yet claim not to trust government is terribly disingenuous. Obviously anyone who does this should NOT BE TRUSTED (by their own admission).

Excuse me, but isn't the question a bit redundant?
The government is Republicans AND Democrats (and Greens and Libertarians etc...).
If you ask me,... It's the the lobbyists who have made things untrustworthy. Lobbying is legalised bribery and both sides participate. Majority rules in some places, but not all. The longer that politicians are allowed to stay in place, the more corruption will happen. That's why in this upcoming election, we must change the stronghold that is currently in place.
For me, I don't particularly care who it is, but it will be a Democrat. Not because I like them better, but because it is time for a change of power. Just like that quote........ "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely".
We must all light our proverbial torches and march on the crooks! If your senator supports the work of Haliburton or any of the other profiteers (by receiving campaign contributions or supporting corporate welfare) ,
then you must hold them accountable. You can't just get away by complaining.
VOTE THEM OUT!

Democrats love the government and want to continue to increase the size of government until we're socialist or communist. They believe government knows what is best for people and government should decide what people do. Republicans don't trust the government, believe the private sector can do most of what the government does much better, they believe in making the government smaller and believe you know what you need and want better than the government.

I think republicans must trust them more since they allow government to tap their phones without warrants, they want government to control women's bodies and to determine when we can die in peace. They think our government can magically bring democracy to countries that don't want it. They don't like asking any questions of our government officials because they just trust they will do the right thing.

Yes they say government is unreliable but they don't act that way.

Possible to count the number of Republicans that are still dazed by the spending? The Dubai fascination? The stance on immigration?

Yet I still see no solution from the other side, and that indeed is worrisome.

I guess you'd have to say democrats do. They want the government to provide everything for them. They want socialized medicine, welfare, cradle to grave entitlements and in order to do all of these things they must grow government. Why would you want to grow something you don't trust. Whereas, Republican want to shrink government and get it our of our lives. To me that sounds less trusting.

Depends on who's in Charge. If Gore had won the 2000 election and sent us to Iraq, a lot of democrats would be falling over themselves to kiss his ring.

Considering the Democrats want to turn our health care over to the people at the DMV, it is obviously the Dems. They want to tell you what you can and can't say, they're all for this Political Correctness speech. Go read Orwell's 1984...Big Brother is the Democrats.

Republicans
Democrats want to always challenge the Government and what they do. This is not a bad thing, but it also creates the conspiracy theories.
